We, the under-signed, humbly petition Her Majesty's Government to make every effort to secure any and all information about the whereabouts of Gilad Shalit, kidnapped from within his own country, Israel, on 25 June 2006, and Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev, also kidnapped from within their own country, Israel, on 12 July 2006, with the express purpose of using them as hostages, and to make every effort to secure their release.
The failure to release Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev by Hizbollah constitutes a violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 (made on 11 August 2006) and, by withholding all information about them from their families and loved ones, Hizbollah is offending both against international law and any decent standard of human conduct. In that respect, we urge Her Majesty's Government to seek to enforce Resolution 1701 at the United Nations Security Council.
